Sox at Yanks- August 28

With the Yanks season hanging by a thread they host the Boston Red Sox for the finale of this three game series where Yankees have to win the game and avoid the sweep. Mike Mussina will take the mound in search for his 17th victory of the season. Jon Lester who has pitched well against the Yankees will get the nod today in hopes of a series sweep and a win that would knock the Yanks from the playoffs. Carl Pavano has been put on waivers as they called up RHP Al Aceves.
