The interleague play schedule is likley to have the Yanks face off with the entire NL East division including visits to new Yankee Stadium from Phillies and the Washington Nationals. Yankees would go to Dolphin Stadium and face the Marlins for the first time in Florida since the 2003 W.S, Yankees will make their first visit to Turner Field since 2000 to play the Braves. The interleague schedule would include the usual Mets-Yanks home and home series.

The Yanks ripped the Tigers pitching early and often as they edged the Tigers in the slug fest by a score of 13-9.Justin Verlander was knocked around by the Yanks as he pitched 1.2 today giving up 8 runs as he picks up his 15th lost of the season. Sidney Ponson was not much better as he didn't get past 4 innings pitched. The Yankees started their 10 day 10 game 4 city trip with a win in Detroit and will now travel to Tampa to match up with the first place Rays.

Yankees started the afternoon big when they put back to back 4 spots in the first two innings of the ball game. Verlander got into trouble early when he put Johnny Damon and Jeter on with walks they each advanced a base as Bobby Abreu floated a hit in front of Magglio Ordonez. The Yanks drew first blood when A-rod came up big with a 2 run clutch base hit. Bobby Abreu moved to third on the hit as he was driven in on Giambi's sacrifice fly to shallow left field as Matt Joyce's throw was way off line. Hideki Matsui served a first pitch hit to score Alex Rodriguez with the fourth Yankee run.
Yankee starter Sidney Ponson gave the Tigers abck a run. Curtis Granderson led off with a double then was chased home on an two-bagger by Magglio Ordonez as the Tigers trailed 4-1 to Yankees after one inning of play. Yankees tacked on 4 more in the second off Verlander and th
e pen. After Pudge got a standing ovation he was fanned by Verlander for the first out. Johnny Damon continued to have a incredible season when he took Verlander deep and out for the Yanks 5th run that was his twelfth homer of the season. Derek Jeter and Bobby Abreu connected with singles to give Yanks another chance for runs. Alex Rodriguez reached on an error that allowed Jeter to score 6-1 Yankees. Xavier Nady singled through the left side to score Abreu as Verlander was done, Hideki Matsui greeted Bobby Seay with run scoring single Yanks took a comfortable 8-1 lead.
It would only get worst after the Yanks exploded in the bottom of the second sir Sidney gave up home run number 425 for the Sheff as he counted for the Tigers second run of the game.Sheffield now stands alone 25th place on the list of career homers. yankees loaded the bases full when Pudge picked up an well needed hit followed by Damon's third hit of game and a walk to Jeter to set up another nightmare inning. Bobby Abreu pushed across a run with an single 9-2 Yanks then Aquilino Lopez came in for relief and gave up two more runs a RBI single to Alex Rodriguez and an Xaiver Nady sac fly to lead the Tigers by 9 11-2.
Things got very scary for the Yanks as the big lead was starting to leak. In the Tigers 4th inning they opened up and bashed Ponson and Edwar Ramirez. Brandon Inge got the rally started when he hit his 55th career homer at Comerica park as tyhe Yanks led 11-4.Shortstop Santiago singled to left center then Curtis Granderson reached on a walk. Placido Palanco was credited with the 5th Tiger run when he singled up the middle to score Santiago. Edwar Ramirez came in as Ponson pitched 3+ innings.Ramirez only made it worst he allowed a sac fly for the sixth run then Miguel Cabrera laced a two run shot into right field to get the Tigers closer now down 11-8.
Tigers added another to trail 11-9 magglio Ordonez drove in Granderson with a single off of Brian Bruney. Yanks added big insurance in the top of the 6th after Robinson Cano got his lone hit then Pudge reached on infield single then ran to second on Larish's throwing error. Johnny Damon walked to load them up for the captain who welcomed Freddy Dolsi with a big 2 run single to pen up the game for the Yanks 13-9 lead. In the 7th it was the sight of M.L debut for LHP Phil Coke he was impressive he blew away Granderson then got Palanco to foul away did allow a hit to Ordonez but nothing major when he fanned Miguel Cabrera with a low breaking ball to end the inning. Coke and Acheves had an impressive debuts the last two games.
Chris Brittion pitched the 9th quite easily except he walked Santiago but he was stranded when Palanco flied to left to end the ball game Yankees open up the 10 game 10 day 4 city trip with a large W over the Tigers 13-9 THEY WILL NOW travel to Tampa tonight get a good sleep and start the 3 game series with the Rays tomorrow night.

Yankees bring up Moeller and Phil Coke
The Yanks have added catching depth as they recalled Chad Moeller and called up for his major league debut left hander relief pitcher in Phil Coke who has worked his way up and was desrving of a September callup. Both men were not on the 40 man roster to begin the season so a ciouple of roster moves will be following these moves.
Still no sign of Yanks bringing up Melky Cabrera again as they are likley going to let him finish off the Scranton season in postseason play. Alfredo Aceves looked great in his debut pitching 2 scoreless and hitless frames as the Yanks fell to Halladay and the Jays 6-2 on Sunday afternoon. Their also maybe a few more moves to come for the Yanks for Septemeber
